• New Leader of Teacher Education Program
  (May 17, 2013) The University of California, Riverside Graduate School of Education has named a new assistant dean/director of its teacher education program.
• ‘Octocopter’ to Get Bird’s Eye Footage of UCR Campus
  (May 17, 2013) Phoenix-based Birds Eye Productions, which specializes in aerial photography and videography, is bringing the eight-bladed, remote controlled camera platform to campus for a two-day video shoot.
• A New Leader for UCR Alumni Relations
  (May 15, 2013) Jorge E. Ancona has been appointed as the new assistant vice chancellor for Alumni and Constituent Relations and executive director of the UC Riverside Alumni Association. He has served as assistant vice chancellor for alumni relations, and executive director of the UCI Alumni Association since 2002.

  (May 15, 2013) An essay by Tod Goldberg, administrative director of the Low Residency M.F.A. in Creative Writing and Writing for the Perform Arts in Palm Desert, has been selected for inclusion in “The Best American Essays” series.
• Research and Scholarship
  (May 15, 2013) The Bourns College of Engineering-Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) is scheduled to receive more than $3 million in funding for biofuels research, the U.S. Department of Energy announced recently.

• Did You Know?
  (May 15, 2013) The University Task Force on Safety (safety.ucr.edu/taskforceonsafety) will host a Safety Task Force Open House on Thursday, May 23 from noon to 1 p.m. in the HUB, Room 302. During this Open House, the Task Force will present the various action items it has considered, and obtain feedback from the UCR community. Members of the Task Force will be present, and the Open House will be webcast.
